Honeywell Aerospace innovates and integrates thousands of products and services to advance and deliver safe, efficient, productive and comfortable experiences. To enhance their customers’ experience with service bulletins and announcements on retrofits, modifications and upgrades to aircraft in a fleet, New Angle Media was tasked with creating the Performance Accelerator web application.
New Angle conducted discovery sessions with the Honeywell team to gain insight into exactly what the customers would want to see in a tool like this. Because we went from an antiquated paper system to a new online tool, there was a lot of possible features to consider.
One feature that makes this app so dynamic is the interactive aircraft model. New Angle studied images of the plane models and designs, and then used that information to create flattened vector skins for each plane. Our team then wrapped the flattened vector skins around a 3D model of the plane, creating the finished look.
When you select an aircraft from your fleet, you see a model of the selected plane in the hangar and can click and drag to see what parts or features require attention and service. If the aircraft needs service, you will see beacons on the model that can be clicked for more information such as part numbers, required downtime for the aircraft and access a value calculator (if applicable). You can also get a quote on a service bulletin, ask a question, add a service bulletin to your Wishlist for later, or download the service bulletin from this view. Honeywell service requests can be sent directly from the Performance Accelerator web app.
Honeywell’s Performance Accelerator is a one-stop shop for airline fleet management and helps airlines calculate fuel, maintenance, operational and safety cost savings from service bulletin announcements. The user-friendly interface makes it easy for employees across different departments to easily navigate through the tool and access the information they need more efficiently.
